If a driver chooses not to purchase an IHRA number, MIR will assign you a permanent number.  Only Driver’s with an IHRA License and X number will be eligible or the Summit SuperSeries at the conclusion of the season.  The license must be current for each race.

3. The points are earned according to the number displayed on the vehicle. Should a driver change vehicles during the season, his or her permanent number must be on the vehicle.

4. All numbers and dial-ins are to be displayed on the right side of the vehicle front and back. The numbers have to be legible for the tower crew.

5. Points will be given in all eliminators unless there is a special event. Drivers will be notified if points are not given at a special event.

6. A driver may drive more than one car in the same eliminator or may double enter the same car on classes identified to permit double entries.  With double entries, please try to get one entry to front of staging and second towards the end.  You are responsible for correct car number on your car when you pull in the water box.

7. Buybacks must be done prior to the upcoming round - i.e. – all round one buy backs must be registered to running round two and all round two buy backs must be registered before running round three.

8. Points will be awarded to the driver and car number. Combination points cannot be transferred, even if the driver changes eliminator.

9. The highest ranking 13 drivers in each of the eliminators, Rick’s Powder Coating Super Pro, Luttrell Belting & Supply Company Pro - No Box, and the top-four in Jr Dragster that ACCEPT will make up team one for Memphis at the IHRA ET Summit Team Finals. Cars planning to run at the IHRA ET Finals must meet IHRA membership, licensing, and chassis certification criteria.

12. Points & Purse Policy for Curfew or Weather Shortened Events – An event is defined as “COMPLETED” at the conclusion of the first round in all classes (not including re-entry). Purses are then divided between all active drivers still in the competition. Points will also be awarded in each round for all classes. If the event would happen to be canceled (due to weather or any other circumstance beyond our control) in the middle of a class, points will then be awarded up until the last fully completed round of competition.

2019 Points will be earned as follows in all classes:

20 points for entry must run 1st round

10 points for each round win

Runner-up One (1) extra point

Winner Two (2) extra points

2019 Race Procedures

1. Events will run with two (2) official time trials followed by round 1 of eliminations.

2. Tech will be done in the staging lanes when your class is called to staging lane for time trials come prepared to tech and run time trials.  Tech card must be completely filled out and signed.

3. In time trials and eliminations, cars will be called to their assigned lanes: Jr. Dragster Lanes 7 & 8; DOT/Street Lanes 5 & 6, Luttrell Belting & Supply Company - No Box Lanes 3 & 4, and Rick’s Powder Coating Super Pro - Box to Lanes 1 & 2. In eliminations all cars (winners and buy backs) will be called to their assigned lanes. 1st round buyback go directly to round 2 and 2nd round go directly to round 3. Once you have committed to a lane you must stay in that lane.  The commit line is the walkover bridge in staging lanes.  NO LANE SWITCHING! When all the pairs have been run and the remainder of the cars are all in one lane, lane choice will be determined by high card draw.  The Commit line for pairings is the head of staging – while cross line.

4. In each round there will be a wait and see bye. In case there is an odd number of cars in that round the first round buy will be determined by a random draw. The buy will carry over to the next round if not used and will carry into the ladder should it be necessary. Reaction time from the previous round will determine buys and pairings. The cars will be paired at sixteen (16) cars or less in Rick’s Powder Coating Super Pro Box/Super Pro and Luttrell Belting & Supply Co. and then paired each round thereafter using a pro ladder based on prior rounds reaction time. No car will receive more than one (1) buy except in the case of a competition bye or all cars have already had byes.

5. Courtesy staging is in effect during all points races. If a car stages before both cars have pre-staged, the car will be backed out of the lights (one time only) and both cars will then re-stage.

6. Deep staging is allowed (excludes Rick’s Powder Coating Box) but not guaranteed, it is up to the racer to get in deep as soon as possible. It is not the responsibility of the starter.

7. All Jr. Dragster competitors entered will be given a maximum of two (2) qualifying session - cars must run in these sessions. No makeup sessions will be run. At this time, juniors will run with the big cars. There will be 1 class of Juniors, it will be an all run bracket style race, cars will be qualified off reaction time and laddered on a Pro ladder lane choice will be determined by best reaction time from the previous round cars will re laddered each round . Buy backs will go to round 2 and be qualified with the round 1 winners off reaction time. Jr. Dragster crew members will fire the car up when the two (2) cars before they have pre-staged. A maximum of three (3) “push-backs” and one (1) engine restart will be allowed prior to staging. Once the dragster has lit the pre-stage bulb, no crewmember will be allowed to touch the vehicle, other than to turn on a data switch.

8. No driver may change vehicles once eliminations have begun.  Once a car crosses the lane commit line for round 1 – there can be no car change. A driver may change vehicles before eliminations have begun, race officials must be notified of change.

9. All dial-ins must be visible after crossing the yellow line in front of the staging lanes and cannot be changed after that. Jr. Dragster drivers may not change their dial-in after the first pair of Jr.’s has staged.

10. Reaction times and intermediate times are given as a courtesy to the driver and no races will be re-run over disputed times.

11. It is the sole responsibility of the driver to check his or her dial-in before staging. Once both cars have staged, it is a race.

12. RAINOUTS: Rainouts will not be rescheduled unless we are unable to complete a minimum of 5 points races for IHRA Summit Team Finals Qualifications.

13. LICENSE RUNS: We have always supported our license applicants by offering drivers unlimited access to the track, and we will continue to do so during open test n tune events. However, on race days, they will have to adjust. At Bracket events, once we start eliminations, license runs will not be allowed until AFTER 3RD ROUND.

Some drivers attend our Summit Bracket Series presented by COMP Cams events in an effort to make only time trial or exhibition runs. We understand that not all drivers and/or cars attend these events to compete. However, the Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams is our RACE DAY. Time trial only drivers will be allowed the opportunity to make two (2) passes with the category that their car would normally race. Once eliminations begin, there will be no further test passes until AFTER 3rd ROUND, and only if we are not running behind schedule. The track is “prepped” the same every time we open the main gates. We understand that the “bite” is better on Race Day because of all of the big-tire cars running, but these events are RACEDAY.

15. Points & Purse Policy for Curfew or Weather Shortened Event– An event is defined as “COMPLETED” at the conclusion of the first round in all classes (not including re-entry). Purses are then divided between all active drivers still in the competition. Points will also be awarded in each round for all classes. If the event would happen to be canceled (due to weather or any other circumstance beyond our control) in the middle of a class, points will then be awarded up until the last fully completed round of competition.
