Memphis International Raceway Releases Action-Packed 2019 Schedule

Thursday, January 17, 2019
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (January 17, 2019) — Memphis International Raceway will live up to its name as the premier motorsports destination in the Mid-South with an awesome schedule of events for 2019.

If you’re a fan of stock cars, open-wheel cars, drag cars or fire-breathing jet cars; you can see them all at MIR this season.

Major events include NASCAR, USAC and CRA Late Models at the MIR’s exciting 3/4-mile oval track. The drag strip features more than 150 days of racing action with such events as the Super Chevy Show and various forms of the incredibly popular Street Outlaw races.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series returns for a third-straight year with the Memphis 150, presented by AutoZone on Saturday, June 1. It’s your chance to see the future stars of the sport in NASCAR’s only visit to the Mid-South region. The last two Monster Energy Cup Series champions, Joey Logano and Martin Truex, Jr., came through the K&N Series as did many other current stars including Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and defending Daytona 500 champion Austin Dillon.

MIR will host the season opener for the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series with the Memphis 100 on March 23.  The lightning-fast, open-wheel cars bring a new level of excitement to the ¾-mile oval. Past Silver Crown champions include some of the biggest names in motorsports like A.J. Foyt, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.

Late Model racing returns to MIR’s fast oval July 21 with the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour and the Masters of the Pros race. The 125-lap race will pay a minimum of $10,000-to-win and promises to deliver incredible short-track action with drivers battling it out for the coveted green jacket.

There is a very full season at the drag strip including new events to the track. First up is the Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Blowout on March 1 to 5 with both radial prepped and no-prep racing, along with three days of fire-breathing Jet Cars.

Other new events to the dragstrip are the Mid-West Pro Mod Series September 13 and 14, the 901 Bad Boys Grudge racing on four select Sundays and more. Also returning is the popular Bracket Racing and Test n Tune sessions that call MIR their home each year as they compete for end-of-season points championships.

The 33rd annual Super Chevy Show, the premier destination for all things Chevrolet, comes to MIR on April 5 to 7 and you won’t want to miss a minute of the excitement. There is drag racing, a vendor midway and a massive swap meet to find those hard-to-locate parts, and the largest collection of Chevrolet vehicles, from modern to classic, in one place.

Other racer-friendly events are scheduled throughout the year. Champions from all over North America meet Oct. 18 to 20 for the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit SuperSeries World Finals, the most prestigious national championship in bracket racing.
