For Immediate Release: The Great American Bracket Race Is Canceled

Monday, November 12, 2018

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2018) – Due to the forecasts calling for unfavorable weather and racing conditions, the management of Memphis International Raceway (MIR), along with Gaylon Rolison and Britt Cummings, have decided to cancel the Great American Bracket Race scheduled for November 16-18, 2018.

The safety of our racers, their crew, and spectators is paramount. The forecasts show an extreme cold front moving through the Mid-South this week, making the dragstrip unsafe. Due to the large percentage of racers traveling from out of state, MIR wanted to give everyone enough notice to avoid unnecessary travel.

We look forward to everyone joining us for the next Great American Bracket Race, scheduled for May 23-26, 2019.
