Ricks Powder Coating Box Class finals had Chad Roach, from Reagan, TN, racing against Michael Hall, from Byhalia, MS. Roach took the win and coasted to an easy victory after Hall left early and caught a red light on the tree. Roach’s winning pass was a 9.626 on a 4.62 DI at 37.11 mph. Roach has been a top contender all season in overall points and his first-place finish on Saturday night secured a second place finish in 2018’s season points.

The Luttrell Belting and Supply Co. No Box Class featured regular MIR racer, David Elam, from Covington, TN, racing his 1972 Chevy Nova against Malone ‘Tooth’ Wren. Wren took the win at the tree with a .001 reaction time, running an 8.475 on an 8.44 DI. Elam’s time was closer to his DI, but he lost it at the tree, running a 6.058 on a 6.06 DI at 107.27 mph. Elam’s reaction time on his runner-up pass was .057. Elam his been in first place in the class almost all season and his win on Saturday night secured his first place finish in points in 2018.

The Engines Inc. DOT/Street class had Stephen Delashmit from Munford, TN racing his 1999 Chevy S10 against Rodney Ervin, from Atoka, TN who was racing his 2018 Chevy Silverado. Ervin left before the third amber, handing the win to Delashmit who ran a 13.466 on his 13.45 DI at 94.91 mph. Delashmit has been battling for first place in season points all year and winning on Saturday night finalized his spot at the top of the class in 2018.

2nd Hand Power Speed Shop Stock/SS had TD Holland, from Huntington, TN racing his 1968 AMC against Matt Hoover, from Adamsville, TN, who raced his 2001 Chevy S10. Hoover left too early, giving the win to Holland. Holland ran a 10.455 on his 10.20 DI at 108.43 MPH with a 0.43 reaction time. Hoover’s runner up pass was a 9.933 on his 9.92 DI at 130.52 mph with a -0.28 reaction time.

Palugi won, running an 8.531 on an 8.51 DI at 74.77 mph with a .084 reaction time. Christina’s runner-up pass was a 12.196 on a 12.15 DI at 50.90 mph on a .106 reaction. Palugi has been in the top three in season points all year and his first-place finish on Saturday night put him in second place overall.
