Memphis 125 Presented by AutoZone Marks Nascar’s Long Awaited Return to Memphis

Friday, June 2, 2017

The long wait is nearly over.

After an eight-year absence, NASCAR finally returns to the Mid-South on Saturday with the K&N Pro Series Memphis 125, presented by AutoZone at Memphis International Raceway.

The race, held at the 0.75-mile tri-oval in Millington, Tenn., will feature some of the brightest young stars in NASCAR including K&N Pro Series East points leader Harrison Burton. The driver of the No. 12 Toyota won earlier this season at Bristol Motor Speedway and will try to make it two-for-two in Tennessee at Memphis.

Other K&N Pro Series drivers include Todd Gilliland, currently second to Burton in the point standings, and rookie points leader Chase Purdy. Other drivers in the top 10 include Ruben Garcia Jr., Chase Cabre and Jay Beasley from NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program.

These young stars look to follow the path of recent K&N Pro Series graduates Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and Daniel Suarez into the NASCAR Cup Series. Austin Dillon, the Cup Series’ most recent winner, is another K&N Pro Series graduate.

Saturday, June 3 action includes practice, qualifying and a driver autograph session before drivers take the green flag at 5 p.m. (CT).

Saturday tickets start at just $20 for adults with tickets just $5 for kids 6-12 and those five and under admitted free. For just $49, a limited number of fans can purchase a VIP experience that includes lunch with the drivers hosted by 21-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and current NBC Sports analyst Jeff Burton.
