Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams Coming to a Close

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

With two races left to determine Team MEMPHIS - where do we stand - who's in and who's out

The Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams is nine races in with two more on the schedule. Will the current points leaders hold on for the title of Track Champion or will there be a shake up in the next two races. What else is on the line, the coveted spot on Team Memphis for the IHRA Team Finals. Memphis takes the top 13 in both Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro and Foster's Towing and Salvage No Box along with four from the R. T. Turbines Junior Dragster class to represent Team Memphis. There are also two alternate spots up for grabs. How will it shake out? We will find out after the next two points races.

The Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro currently has Jesse Bobo leading the way with 493 points over Buddy Ferrell with 445 points. Is a 48 point lead enough to carry him to the end? Bobo's lastvisit to the winner's circle was on April 16 with a runner up finish and prior to that the win on March 6. Bobo has stayed consistent all year, but hasn't found his way back to the winner's circle since mid-April. Will his luck change and we see him in the winner's circle in the next few weeks? He is poised and ready to run these out. Ferrell, no stranger to the winner's circle has also had three appearances in 2016 with two wins - one in April and one in July as well as a runner-up in May. Other racers who have visited the winner's circle that are currently in the top five are: Jeff Bobo who took a win in July and is currently sitting just 13 points behind Ferrell, Shane Stout who took a win in May followed by Mark Parson's, who has been consistent all year but has not broken into the winner's circle yet. The top 15 in points are as follows:
