Five Races - Five Winners and King of Memphis Determined

The first day of the Great American Bracket race is in the books and the results are in on the five races that were up for grabs.

Starting the day off with the Out of the Box - straight off the trailer - 16 drivers tried their luck and got into the mix. The sixteen car field narrowed each round and came down to Cody Harger and Daniel Rolison. Harger would take it at the tree with a .004 reaction time going 4.87 on a 4.85 dial in to Rolison's .019 reaction time running a 4.996 on a 4.98 dial in.

The next race on the day would be the 2nd Hand Power Stock/Super Stock which would see an all Huntington, TN final with Mitch Reed seeing T. D. Holland. Holland would take the win with a .192 reaction time running a 12.285 on a 10.15 dial in to Reed's .172 reaction time running a 12.205 on a 10.44 dial in.

Juniors would take the stage and it would be a Mississippi / Louisiana final with Will Carroll of West Monroe, LA facing Kholten Fuller of Brandon, MS. Carroll would take the win with a .043 reaction time running an 8.02 on a 7.94 dial in to Fuller's .101 reaction time running a 8.057 on an 8.00 dial in.

Up next it would be the $10,000 to win for Electronics as over 100 cars would take the track. It would come down to the final two Cody Harger and Allen Wickell. Harger would find himself in his second final on the day seeing Allen Wickell of Saraland, AL. Harger would fall short of a double up with Wickell taking the win with a .015 reaction time running a 4.507 on a 4.50 dial in to Harger's .023 reaction time running a 4.845 on a 4.84 dial in.

Leaving just one final to be determined on the day, the King of Memphis, with 32 cars vying for the title as the sun went down and the track was in full swing - King of Memphis was on the line. It would come down to Luke Bogacki of Cartersville, IL and Johnny Ezell of Ventress, LA. Bogacki shared a .001 reaction time in the semi with Clint Dishman, both with a double breakout run would leave too quick by .004 in the final and give the win and the King of Memphis title to Johnny Ezell with a nice $10,000 pay day as well. Ezell would have a .017 reaction time running a 4.821 on a 4.84 dial in.

On tap for today, Saturday, September 10, is the continuation of the Great American Bracket Race. We will see Electronics vying for $50,000 to win and claiming only the 8th title to date along with the Ultimate Junior Dragster Challenge and 2nd Hand Power Stock / Super Stock.
