MEMPHIS, Tennessee (July 21, 2016) - With pushed back start times on Saturday, the drivers took advantage of cooler temperatures to make a move in the point standing.  With six classes running on the night, four in the points program, we saw three points lead changes.

The R. T. Turbines Junior Dragster class saw Tara Taylor go on a winning streak winning round after round meeting up with current point's leader Drew Tracey in the finals.  Taylor of Somerville, TN would have a .008 reaction time running an 8.031 on an 8.41 dial in, while Tracey of Millington, TN would put up .035 reaction time with a break out run of 8.407 on an 8.41 dial in.  The win would have Taylor taking over the points lead by one.

First time racer at Memphis International Raceway, Ethan Hobbs, took the win in the R. T. Turbines Junior Dragster 2nd chance race.

In Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro the gap would close in the point's battle from 58 to 28, with Ferrell's appearance in the quarter finals and Bobo's misfortune in early rounds it has tightened the battle. However, Jeff Bobo of Walnut, MS met Danny Nelson in the finals.  Nelson unable to make the call would give the win to Jeff, father of current point's leader Jesse Bobo.
The Foster's Towing and Salvage No Box class would follow the trend, with a points lead change.  Rumley of Huntington, TN would have a point advantage coming into the night and a strong finish by Elam would swap the two and give Elam a 20-point advantage on the end of the night.  The finals would have Tim Pace of Booneville, MS running Elam.  Elam would have the buy into the finals, but the better reaction time of Pace and a break out run would give Elam the runner up spot.  It was enough to take the points lead.

Rounding out the point's classes on the night would be the R. T. Turbines DOT / Street class.  With seven races down this class has been neck and neck all year.  The current points lead going into the night would be Bradley Sanders who now finds himself tied for third with Tommy Jackson.   In the finals it was defending track champion, Billy Foster, Sr., paired up against David Elam who is no stranger to a track championship himself.  On a double break out run, Elam would have the better of the two runs and take the win.  Cliff Hubbard remains the point's leader with his semi-final appearance.

6.0 And 7.0 made a stop in Memphis for the event.  Running a limited schedule in Memphis with these classes, it is a great addition.  In the 7.0 class we had Eddie Scott of Stuttgart, AR paired against Mike Rogers, of Clarendon, AR.  The win would go to Rogers with a .020 running a 7.001 at the top end.  In the 6.0 class we had Chad Roach of Reagan, TN paired against Jeff Ferguson of Olive Branch, MS.  It would be Ferguson taking the win with a .10 reaction time running a 6.017 to Roach's breakout run of 5.985.
