Finishing the Season Strong at MIR

As the season is winding down and there is one final race before we crown the champion, every point is crucial to capture the title.

On Sunday afternoon at Memphis International Raceway (MIR), Shane Stout took the win and reclaimed the points lead while we saw first time winners with Troy Poindexter and Chris Foster visiting the Winner's Circle as well.


Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro is coming down to the final race as this week's winner, Shane Stout took a three-point advantage in the points defeating Michael Hall in the finals.  Stout took the victory with .009 reaction time and a 4.849 on a 4.83 at 137.74 mph over Hall's .019 reaction time and a 4.844 on a 4.81 at 137.76 mph.  Rounding out the semis was Leigh Hubbard and Jack Jackson.

B&B Towing Pro/Footbrake saw a new winner for the 2015 season with Troy Poindexter taking the win over Greg Johnson who fouled in the finals.  Johnson had a flawless day until the finals taking five round wins before turning on the red light and handing the win over to Troy Poindexter with a reaction time of .031 and running a 6.585 on a 6.58 at 102.72 mph. Rounding out the semis was Caffey Broadus, who extended his points lead over John Castellaw to 22.

R.T. Turbines DOT/Street also saw a first-time winner with Chris Foster.  Foster had six flawless rounds turning on the win light round after round.  Foster took the win in the finals over his father and current points leader Billy Foster, Sr.  It was a breakout  run by Foster, Sr. who ran a 16.592 on a 16.60 dial-in giving the win to the younger Foster who ran a 13.835 on a 13.75 with a .033 reaction time at 93.31 mph.

The R. T. Turbines Junior Dragster final featured two young guns, Drew Tracey of Millington, Tennessee and Devin Johnson of Collierville, Tennessee.  Tracey and Johnson came into the race third and fourth in points and while the one and two spot are not in their reach, there is still competition for overall points.  Sunday was Tracey's day who took the win in the finals running an 8.36 on an 8.34 dial over Johnson who ran an 8.642 on an 8.57 dial-in.  The two came into the race with a 20-point margin separating them and are now separated by 21 points going into the final race.  

The R. T. Turbines Junior Dragster 2nd Chance race saw Layna Tracey take the win over Cody Jackson. Tracey ran a 10.452 on a 10.35 dial-in while Jackson's breakout run was a 11.026 on an 11.15 dial-in.   

The Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams has a week off with the running of the 4th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Bracket Bash taking place this weekend, November 14-15, 2015.  The race weekend will feature:  Ricks Powder Coating Super Pro, B&B Towing Pro/Footbrake, RT Turbines Junior Dragster and 2nd Hand Power Stock/SS Combo. The next scheduled Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams event will be Sunday, November 22.
