Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams Results

Monday, August 11, 2014

The Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams had a busy weekend as they wrapped up race 12 and 13 of the 2014 season. Only one more race remains in the chase to the championship before the IHRA Team Finals on October 4 - 5 at Memphis International Raceway (MIR).

The exciting weekend included Leigh Hubbard bringing home her second win in the Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro class, Justin Poindexter producing back-to-back wins in the R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragster class and David Elam taking the win in R.T. Turbines D.O.T Street and the B&B Towing Footbrake class on Saturday. Elam now has a 128-point lead over Cliff Hubbard in R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street and has secured the championship heading into the final race of the season.

"We had some issues with rain showers on Saturday which made for a long night but the racers waited it out and put on a great show," stated Paul Cartwright, Director of Operations at Memphis International Raceway. "The championship chase is tight and is going to come down to the last race in the Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro and B&B Towing Footbrake classes. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out at our next race and congratulations to David Elam on clinching the top spot in the R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street class!"
